Plot

Mewtwo and Mew were about to hit the hay for the night when a Grimer creeps into their cave, disrupting the duo. Grimer warns the two about a strange phenomenon in Echo Creek, a bizarre flood blocking the sewers. Grimer begs Mewtwo for help, eager to enter the sewers again. Mew urges Mewtwo to help and so he reluctantly agrees to help. But when Mewtwo arrives in Echo Creek, he finds that the flood appears to be sentient. Will Mewtwo defeat this strange new entity? Or will he be swallowed up by it, leaving Echo Creek in danger?

Story

The story begins on one night with Mewtwo and Mew inhabiting a dark, damp cave. Mewtwo and Mew are both visibly tired and look as if they're ready to sleep for the night.

• Mew: Time to go to bed! Then tomorrow, we can play again!

• Mewtwo: I suppose it is late. I'll see you in the morning, Mew.

Mewtwo begins floating above the ground, entering a fetal position. Mew lies on the cave floor, closing it's eyes. A few minutes later, the psychic duo can hear a strange, sludge noise on the cave floor. In response to this, Mewtwo quickly exits his fetal position, and his eyes glow white as he points his hand outward in the direction of the sound.

• ???: No, no, please, stop!

Mewtwo's eyes stop glowing white as it is revealed the mysterious sludge was just an ordinary Grimer, a Pokemon made out of nothing but sludge and toxins, with two eyes a gaping mouth. He stares at Mewtwo, with fear in his eyes. Mewtwo looks unimpressed, crossing his arms and talking in a stern tone.

• Mewtwo: Leave now, and never return.

• Grimer: N-No, no, you don't understand! I need your help with something!

• Mewtwo: Deal with it yourself. It's none of my concern.

Mew yawns, and it levitates over to Grimer and Mewtwo, looking confused.

• Mew: What's going on?

Grimer turns to face Mew, hoping that somebody would help him.

• Grimer: Please! You have to help me! It's about the sewers!

• Mew: Okay! We'll help you! Right, Mewtwo?

Mew floats closer to Mewtwo, tilting it's head and waiting for a response. Mewtwo still has a stern expression on his face.

• Mewtwo: If he wants help then he can help himself. There's no need for us to get involved.

Mew looks cross after Mewtwo says this, upset with his uncaring attitude.

• Mew: Mewtwo! You have to help him! Why are you being so mean?!

• Grimer: Please help! I just want to go back into the sewers!

• Mew: Please Mewtwo! Just help him!

Mew drops their cross frown for a hopeful smile, while Grimer sadly looks down, already knowing what the answer will be. Mewtwo grumpily looks away from the two of them. Mew floats around Mewtwo to where he is facing.

• Mew: Pretty please?

Mewtwo still looks unhappy about the situation, but eventually he groans and covers his face with his hand for a moment. He puts his hands to his side and he reluctantly answers.

• Mewtwo: I suppose I don't have a say in the matter, don't I? Just inform me about it's whereabouts, and I'll take care of it.

Mew looks content with this answer and it excitedly fist bumps in the air. Grimer also looks happier, wearing a smile on his face.

• Grimer: It's in Echo Creek! There's something blocking the sewer system, so I need your help!

• Mewtwo: So why did you need my help? That sounds like an average job.

• Grimer: Uh... Well...

Grimer looks Mewtwo up and down, before continuing his sentence.

• Grimer: You're the one and only Mewtwo! The smartest Pokemon! And a Legendary Pokemon! If anybody can do it, then it's you! I'm actually a big fan of yours! The way you use telekinesis, and your intelligence, and your super cool levitation, and your incredible psychic powers, and your-

• Mewtwo(Frustrated): I understand. And you found my cave because someone told you where I was?

• Grimer: ... How did you know?

Mewtwo face palms again.

• Mew: Well, let's go to Echo Creek!

• Mewtwo: There's no need for that, Mew. I can do this myself.

• Mew: Huh? But wouldn't it be better if we do it as a team?

• Mewtwo: I would like to do this task by myself. Farewell, Mew.

Mewtwo clicks his fingers, and he's gone. Mew shrugs.

• Mew: Sorry, Grimer. Mewtwo must just be cranky because he's tired!

The scene shifts to Mewtwo standing in the city of Echo Creek. Many cars are driving past, and people patrol the sidewalks, being quite cluttered. Most of the people stare at Mewtwo blankly, being amazed by such an alien creature. Mewtwo returns cold stares at them, causing the majority of the people to walk by faster. Mewtwo walks down the sidewalk, bumping past many pedestrians, until he stops at a manhole. He stares at the manhole intensely and he adjusts his hand, causing the manhole cover to levitate into the air. He moves his hand right and the manhole cover goes in the direction, with Mewtwo dropping his hand, causing the manhole cover to fall on the pavement, the sewers now being open.

Strangely, he notices a black liquid begin to seep through the hole, looking like ink. More and more of the liquid begins to seep through the hole, rushing out. But the most unsettling part was that the liquid seemed to be sentient. It crept towards Mewtwo, as the liquid began to ooze at a faster pace. It wasn't long until the liquid flooded through the hole, a large stream of it rushing upwards. All the people around Mewtwo quickly took notice and they looked horrified, some running past and others staring with shock. It wasn't long until the black juice had formed several puddles around the hole. Somehow, the liquid managed to squirt at a even more rapid pace and the entire sidewalk was covered in the liquid, Mewtwo getting some of it on himself as well.

The flooding finally stopped, and all the puddles began to slither closer to eachother, until they all formed together to create one large puddle. Suddenly, two red menacing eyes appeared in the puddle, staring at Mewtwo. A head rose up slowly out of the puddle, the red eyes belonging to it with a large, sadistic stretched smile. The head ascended out of the puddle, revealing a neck underneath that was attached to a body. It rose up even higher, revealing an entire torso and arms. The shape of a crescent moon appeared on his chest. As the character climbed out of the puddle, it stared intensely at Mewtwo, at it's legs and feet were finally revealed. There was now a dark, black figure standing in front of Mewtwo, being made up entirely of the liquid. It continued to stare at Mewtwo, observing him. At this point, all the people on the sidewalk were terrified, very disturbed by the presence of this strange creature, although the creature doesn't take any notice of them and he only continues to stare at Mewtwo. Mewtwo looks somewhat confused about this, and he felt a little bit... Unsettled, but he hid it to the best of his ability, not letting even the slighted ounce of fear take over him. Mewtwo felt like the creature was staring right into his soul, as if Mewtwo was it's next meal. Mewtwo finally broke the silence.

• Mewtwo: What are you? And what is your name?

The creature's neck tilts, as if it is amused by Mewtwo's questions. The creature responds.

• Strange Creature: Why shall I disclose that information to you?

The creature's voice sounded raspy and coarse. It gurgles some of his words, as if it is choking on it's very own fluid. This only weirded Mewtwo out even further, to the point where Mewtwo showed discomfort on his face.

• Mewtwo: Leave now, or suffer the consequences.

The creature's smile widens even more, and it has a fit of laughter, opening it's mouth to reveal a dark emptiness. The fluid drips down it's mouth. It continues to laugh until it makes a loud gurgling sound, stopping to speak again.

• Strange Creature: Well, isn't that amusing! You're threatening me? Nobody's ever threatened me and lived to tell the tale! In fact, they're apart of me now! Allow me to demonstrate.

The creature morphs to a slightly fatter shape, and it's face contorts to a more human looking face with a sad expresson.

• Strange Creature: Please... Let me go...

His expression suddenly shifts back to the same red eyes and smile, before laughing maniacally again and reverting back to his original shape. Mewtwo's eyes widen in shock for a brief moment, attempting to keep calm and collected, focusing on the unknown specimen.

• Mewtwo: ... You're bluffing. You merely only distorted yourself to create the illusion of another being. Do not try to deceive me.

The strange creature's smile widens, his eyes gleaming with awe.

• Strange Creature: Ah, so you're the intelligent type? My, what fun! But tell me... How do you truly know you are correct? The truth is just a concept, a mindset, illustrated by none other than ourselves. And when every living organism has a different perception on these concepts, it begins to lose it's meaning.

• Mewtwo: Hmph... What's wrong with you?

• Strange Creature: Ah, there are many things wrong with me, just like how there are many things wrong with everything else! There is always a spec of imperfection in everything, that can be exploited! Every living being has a demon inside them, no matter how heroic... How courageous... Either they perish or they submit to their true self. And those who are already what you call 'evil'... They were once heroes as well!

Mewtwo stops for a second, thinking about what the creature had just said. Surely it can't be true, right?

• Mewtwo: You're trying to manipulate me, and I won't stand for it. I came here so I could help one another, and yet you stand before me. You claim you sprout the truth, yet you once again claim that it is all lies. You only speak madness, and I speak with knowledge. That is the difference between us. Now, we will speak no longer. We will fight.

• Strange Creature: The fight has already began. Look at your hand; is it the same as it was before?

Mewtwo holds his right hand in front of his face, taking a close look at it. The same black liquid had now completely covered his hand from when it splashed on him earlier, the liquid spreading throughout Mewtwo's body at a steady pace. When he looks back at the strange creature, he notices that it retreated back into it's puddle, the puddle slithering on the ground, creeping towards Mewtwo. Mewtwo points his hand at the puddle, charging up a psychic attack, when he quickly stops to clutch his arm in pain, the liquid now spreading down his arm. While he does this, the puddle goes directly underneath him, multiple inky black arms forming from the puddle, pulling Mewtwo down. Mewtwo starts to sink into the puddle, and so Mewtwo desperately attempts to move, only to realize that he is completely stuck. He descends deeper, his legs already submerged in the puddle, his lower torso about to go down. Mewtwo attempts to use his hands to push himself upwards, but it was no use. Mewtwo's entire torso was now submerged, leaving only his neck and his head. Mewtwo found himself struggling to breathe, trying to cling onto life. With one final pull, Mewtwo descends completely into the puddle, being left in darkness.

Mewtwo wakes to find himself surrounded in complete darkness, a never ending void. Mewtwo thought about where he was. Was he in Hell? Or was he in purgatory? Was this the end? Just nothing but complete darkness, streching on infinitely. Has the universe just ended? Mewtwo was left in complete silence, leaving his thousand thoughts to shine brighter than they ever could. Mewtwo waited for minutes, and minutes turned to hours, and hours turned to days, and days turned to weeks, and weeks turned to months, and months turned to years. Mewtwo clutched his head, beginning to lose his mind.

• Mewtwo: ... No. No, it can't end like this. It can't. It can't end like this! IT CAN'T END LIKE THIS! IT CAN'T END LIKE THIS!

Mewtwo hears the sound of water dripping, echoing behind him. Mewtwo instinctively turns around to meet a familar face, the same strange creature that dragged him into this mess.

• Strange Creature: Oh, but it can end like this. Very easily, in fact.

• Mewtwo: You... How many years have you trapped me down here!?

Mewtwo snarled with anger and hatred.

• Strange Creature: ... Years? It's only been a few minutes. Are you losing your sanity already? Aw, but I wanted this to last!

• Mewtwo: What...? But that's impossible...

• Strange Creature: When you're trapped for all eternity, the concept of time becomes irrelevant.

• Mewtwo: Please... Tell me... What is this place?

• Strange Creature: This is my world. I am able to bend the rules of my world however I want. In my world, I become a God. And now you are my toy.

Mewtwo feels rage building up inside of him.

• Mewtwo: What, so you just think you can do whatever you want with me!?

• Strange Creature: Precisely. There is nothing stopping me.

Mewtwo faces downward in defeat.

• Mewtwo: So it's over... I've lost.

• Strange Creature: Indeed! It's better that you submit now than later, or else you'll have to suffer the consequences!

• Mewtwo: What is your name?

• Strange Creature: My name...? I suppose it doesn't matter, since you're now mine. Very well. They call me... Eclipse.

Eclipse's smile once again widens.

• Mewtwo: Well, then... Farewell, Eclipse.

Mewtwo raises his arm to reveal a large charge of psychic energy directly towards Eclipse. Eclipse absorbs the shot, being unaffected. He scoffs at this and he changes shape, taking the shape of a large dragon, still with the same glowing red eyes. He towers over Mewtwo, lowering his head to get a good look at him, the two meeting eye to eye. Eclipse opens his mouth, revealing a very large empty void inside of him, that a human could easily walk through.

• Eclipse: DO NOT DEFY ME, TOY.

Eclipse's voice echoed loudly, sounding demonic. Eclipse reverts back to his normal form. Mewtwo thinks to himself again, realizing the situlation and knowing that he could be helpless.

• Eclipse: There's something I should tell you. None of this is real. You're in an illusion, being controlled by me in the real world.

• Mewtwo: Controlled?

• Eclipse: Indeed. We have become one, and now I've taken over your body. And now that we've merged... I now know all your memories.

• Mewtwo: Impossible! I will not believe your lies.

• Eclipse: Oh, but they are not lies. In truth, they are quite the contrary! Allow me to show you.

Eclipse vanishes, leaving Mewtwo by himself in darkness again. After a few minutes, he hears voices.

• Mewtwo: Who's there... Show yourself!

• ???: Don't worry!

A little girl appears in front of Mewtwo.

• Girl: I don't want to hurt you!

Mewtwo gets a headace, and he clutches his head again.

• Mewtwo: What is this... My head...

• Girl: Wow! You look like a Pokemon, but you talk! I didn't know a Pokemon could talk like a person!

Mewtwo feels a strong sense of disbelief, barely being able to register what is happening.

• Girl: If you're in this place, then I guess you must be the same as all of us are!

A Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Charmander all appear around Mewtwo and the girl, all with markings on their face.

• Bulbasaur: Saur!

• Charmander: Char!

• Squirtle: Squirtle!

• Mewtwo: Why do I recognise all of you...?

• Girl: Everyone here's a copy! That's why there's a two after all of our names!

• Mewtwo: I know...

• Girl: They call me Ambertwo, but I'm still really Amber!

Bulbasaurtwo, Squirtletwo, and Charmandertwo all say their names in a jolly fashion, while Ambertwo giggles at them. Meanwhile, Mewtwo groans in confusion. The world shifts around the five and they find themselves all floating above a neighbourhood, that was completely grey.

• Ambertwo: I call this my remember place! This is where I used to live!

The sun appears, and the darkness turns to a blue sky with clouds to match.

• Mewtwo: Why is this happening...?

The five feel a sudden gust of wind, making a nearby tree's leaves shake. The clones then watch a sunset, the moon coming up and making it night.

• Ambertwo: That's the sunset! That's when the sun says, 'Good night! See you tomorrow!'

• Mewtwo: I already know.

Charmandertwo starts fading away, and he frowns sadly.

• Mewtwo: No... I'll save you!

Mewtwo attempts to fire a Heal Beam at Charmandertwo, but it's too late. He's already gone. By the time he could check if Squirtletwo and Bulbasaurtwo were okay, they were already gone as well, leaving only Mewtwo and Ambertwo.

• Mewtwo: No... I couldn't save them this time either... Why?!

Mewtwo sounds distraught, as if he is about to break into tears. Finally, it was Ambertwo's turn to begin fading away.

• Ambertwo: It feels... Like it's time... To say goodbye.

• Mewtwo: No... Not again. Not again! Please...

The entire world starts fading back to black again, and tears fall from Mewtwo's eyes.

• Ambertwo: I'm sorry, but I have to go.

• Mewtwo: But why...?

• Ambertwo: I don't know. But it's alright. Thank you for caring about me. And don't cry, Mewtwo. You should be happy! You're alive, and life is wonderful!

Ambertwo fades completely, leaving only Mewtwo in complete and utter darkness again. Mewtwo looks destroyed, staying completely still for a while.

• Mewtwo: Those... Words... I... I-I... Let them die... It's all my fault...

The void around Mewtwo shifts again, and Mewtwo finds himself in a stadium, that appears to be used for Pokemon Battling. He is positioned on one side of the stadium while there is another Pokemon wearing armour. On closer inspection, Mewtwo sees that it is another Mewtwo. The armoured Mewtwo walks close to Mewtwo, and his eyes glow blue. Mewtwo feels himself levitating in the air.

• Armoured Mewtwo: You're nothing but a deadly experiment gone wrong. A mistake who only hurts everything he touches. A horrific amalgamation of Man and Pokemon. And for that, you shall perish.

Mewtwo is sent flying towards the walls of the stadium, making an impact. The armoured Mewtwo picks up Mewtwo by the neck and pins him against the wall, choking him. Mewtwo struggles to speak, let alone breathe.

• Mewtwo: Ack... G-Get out of my head... Eclipse.

The Armoured Mewtwo begins to dissolve and drops Mewtwo on the ground. The Armoured Mewtwo dissolves into a puddle made out of black liquid, as Mewtwo's surroundings reverted back to the empty void. Eclipse rose up from the puddle, bowing down before Mewtwo.

• Eclipse: Well, that's all, folks! Hope you enjoyed the show!

Mewtwo looks down hopelessly, thinking that he will never escape at this point.

• Eclipse: Ah, lost hope already, I see? That's the spirit! May I say, tragic backstory! You lost everything and everyone you ever loved, only to be rejected and manipulated by society because of your horric upbringing! But, that's life. Just a game of luck!

• Mewtwo: Cut the sh*t. Just tell me what you plan to do with my body.

• Eclipse: Oh ho! I see that you are acquainted with the profanities! Very well, allow me to explain. You see, I will use your body to kill everyone you know and love. Starting with your 'prototype'!

• Mewtwo: Mew!? Why!?

• Eclipse: Why does anyone ever do anything? Because of SHEER, ABSOLUTE BOREDOM! And the suffering of others is the most amusing thing there is! Is there really anything wrong with sustaining my boredom?

• Mewtwo: Y-You... I'LL KILL YOU!

Mewtwo's voice sounds broken with rage.

• Eclipse: Well then... You can certainly try.

Mewtwo lowers his arm, charging a blast of psychic energy as Eclipse grows in size, many tentacles forming behind him, also made of the dark inky looking liquid. Eclipse's smile looks more bloodthirsty than ever, looking as if he is going to enjoy ripping Mewtwo to pieces.

Back at the cave, Mew and Grimer are sound asleep when they are woken up by the sound of footsteps. It is revealed to be Mewtwo, completely intact. He has a pair of glowing red eyes instead of his usual eyes. Mewtwo had a large, twisted grin on his face, which was strange because it was usually rare to see Mewtwo smile that much. Mew and Grimer look excited to see Mewtwo again, Grimer looking up at him with adoring eyes.

• Grimer: Yay! You fixed the sewers! Thank you so much!

• Mewtwo: It's my pleasure. But now, I am seeking a form of payment. Hm, let's see... How about your life?

Mewtwo spoke in a deep, raspy voice, which was not what his voice normally sounded like. Grimer begins to feel himself levitate as Mewtwo's eyes glow a brighter red, being thrown into the cave wall with a large amount of force, knocking the Grimer unconscious. As Mew could even attempt to realise what was happening, Mewtwo slowly crept towards Mew, smirking with glee as a ball of psychic energy began materializing in his hands. He stared menacingly at Mew. Mew looked scared and confused, wondering what has happened to it's former friend.

• Mew: (Nervous tone) Mewtwo! Why are you doing this!? What happened!?

• Mewtwo: What happened is that I realised how weak and pathetic you are. I don't need you. Clones are the superior race, and I have no use for low lifes like you anymore. Sayonara.

---

Mewtwo fired his ball of psychic energy at Eclipse, but Eclipse vanished. Mewtwo then heard the sound of dripping behind him, and so Mewtwo instinctively elbows Eclipse right in his chest, making a groan, descending back into a puddle. However, before Eclipse can completely descend, Mewtwo pulls him out of his puddle using telekinesis, leaving him floating in the air. Mewtwo then fires a blast of psychic energy at Eclipse, knocking him backwards. His smile changes to an angry frown.

Mewtwo fires the ball of psychic energy at Mew, causing Mew to feel a large amount of pain.

• Mew: The pain... You're not Mewtwo! You're just an imposter, pretending to be him!

• Mewtwo?: Ah, so you're smarter than you look. But will that save you from THIS!?

Eclipse, who is disguising as Mewtwo, fires a psychic beam from his hands at Mew, but Mew quickly retaliates with it own's psychic beam, causing the two to collide, the two beams pushing eachother back and fourth.

A Charizard, Venusaur and Blastoise all appear before Mewtwo. They all have the same markings as Charmandertwo, Bulbasaurtwo, and Squirtletwo. The Charizard takes flight towards Mewtwo, raising his arm to slash him with his claws, but Mewtwo quickly puts up a barrier of psychic energy. The Charizard continues to slash at the barrier, but to no avail. Charizard gets tired from this and so he stops to have a rest, causing Mewtwo to disable the barrier, picking him up by his tail. Mewtwo spins Charizard around with his tail and he tosses him at Venusaur, Charizard crushing Venusaur, killing two birds with one stone. Blastoise unleashes a ferocious stream of water from his cannons, firing at Mewtwo at high speeds, causing Mewtwo to quickly use Reflect, putting up a strange mirror-like wall, reflecting the stream of water and reflecting it back at Blastoise, but Blastoise shrugs it off. Blastoise retreats into his shell, coming directly towards Mewtwo, but Mewtwo picks him up with telekinesis, and he throws him directly at Charizard and Venusaur, Blastoise colliding with the two while still in his shell. The impact is enough to knock out the Charizard and Venusaur, and Blastoise still continues to go spinning, dashing into the distance, unable to stop itself.

• Mewtwo: You say you're a God, and that's the best you can do to strike me down?

Eclipse looks furious, completely dropping his grin for an angry expression.

• Eclipse: Enough! I'll make you suffer!

Eclipse once again changes shape to the form of a gigantic dragon again, looking like a behemoth compared to Mewtwo. He grabs him with his oversized hand and he smacks him into the ground many, many times until Mewtwo looks almost completely and utterly defeated. He holds him up to his face, his voice sounding loud and demonic.

• Eclipse: Look at how the mighty has fallen! And to think you were so powerful... You're nothing but my underling! I might as well eat you whole now! Gwahahahaha! But I won't, because I need to inflict some pain on you first.

Eclipse throws Mewtwo to the void below him, Mewtwo landing on his back. Mewtwo can barely muster up the strength to do anything, feeling powerless. He felt nothing but overwhelming pain on his back, as Eclipse reverted to his original form once again, standing over Mewtwo.

• Eclipse: You don't understand, do you? Nothing you do will save you. You certainaly act quite foolish for someone who claims to be so intelligent.

Mew puts as much energy as it physically can into it's beam of psychic energy, doing whatever it takes to push Eclipse's beam back. Mew feels as if it just wants to give in, but it musters up every ounce of it's strength to press on. The two beams of energy were neck and neck, Eclipse even somewhat struggling to keep up with Mew. Unfortunately, Mew couldn't take it anymore and it ran out of energy, Eclipse's beam overcoming Mew's very quickly, his beam connecting with Mew, pushing it backwards into the cave wall, Mew dropping on the floor after the attack. Eclipse grins, knowing his power is unmatched.

• Eclipse: You don't stand a chance. You never did.

• Eclipse: And, about Mew... Well, let's just say that I've already killed them. It was quite easy to be honest, it really wasn't much of a challenge. And the best part is that I did it using YOUR body!

Mewtwo coughs up blood, struggling to speak, muttering to himself.

• Mewtwo: I-It can't be... It can't... I refuse to fail another being...

• Eclipse: Sorry, I couldn't hear you in all your doubt and fear.

• Mewtwo: I SAID I REFUSE TO FAIL ANOTHER BEING!

Mewtwo enters a flashback, located in a large run down Pokemon battling stadium that appeared to be abandoned for years. Mew faced him, surrounding itself with psychic energy. Mewtwo did the same and they both shot massive bursts of psychic energy at each other, until a Pokemon Trainer runs in the middle of them. He collapses after the collision, not moving at all. His Pikachu runs up to him, zapping him with electricity, desperately trying to wake him up. The Pikachu starts crying, and every other Pokemon in the stadium sheds tears as well. Eventually, the boy gets up again, having miraculously survived. Mew floats close to Mewtwo.

• Mewtwo(Flashback): I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are.

Mew nods, agreeing with Mewtwo.

• Mew: You're right!

Mewtwo enters another flashback, in Popping Party at the Monkey City with Mecha Sonic cocking his rocket launcher towards Mewtwo's head. However, Mewtwo is not exactly Mewtwo in the flashback, and he is instead his evil form Shatter, as shown by the dark eyes and color.

• Mecha Sonic: Poor fool. You fell right into my master plan. I was never on your side. You cannot control me. I have no master. And for that huge mistake, you will pay! Pay with your life!

Shatter flinches, expecting the worst, hearing the sound of missiles firing. When he comes back to his senses, he realises that he isn't dead, and he instead sees Mew unconscious on the ground, who took the hit for him.

• Shatter: ... M-Mew...?

Shatter experiences a strong sense of guilt and regret.

• Papyrus: I don't think he's stuttering because of how hurt he is! I think he's stuttering because of disbelief! See, I knew there was good in him!

• Shatter: Don't call me that name. That was just a mere nickname, for my true identity is something other than that. Some may call me the genetic Pokemon, some call me the mightiest project to behold, and others call me the strongest Pokemon to exist... My name is MEWTWO!

Shatter reverts back to his purple color, transforming back to Mewtwo, ready to tear Mecha Sonic apart.

The flashback ends, with Mewtwo now standing up infront of Eclipse, struggling to stand.

• Mewtwo: You see... I've fought alongside heroes and I've watched villains fall... But you, you are no villain. You are a monster. You lack empathy and emotion. You seek to destroy lives for your own pleasure. Well, I won't let you. Mew is my friend, and I won't let them die.

• Eclipse: Oh? And what do you think will change this time?

• Mewtwo: I'll show you.

Mewtwo presents a confident smile, as energy begins forming around him. Eclipse looks confused, unaware of what is happening to Mewtwo. Eclipse gets knocked back by a surge of energy, coming directly from Mewtwo. When he quickly recovers, he sees that Mewtwo has changed. Mewtwo looked far bulkier and larger, and his horns has changed. Mewtwo had transformed into his mega form, being far more powerful. Mega Mewtwo glanced at Eclipse with an angry expression, his eyes glowing intensely. Eclipse looks furious. Meanwhile, in the real world, Mewtwo's body has changed to his mega form, with Eclipse still in control.

• Eclipse: So, you transformed just because you care for your friend that much? Pathetic! But you're still not powerful. You never will be! Let me show you true power...

Tentacles stretch from Eclipse's back. Before Eclipse can even have a chance to attack, Mewtwo teleports behind Eclipse, destroying his tentacles in an instant with powerful punches and kicks. Eclipse looks stunned, as Mewtwo roundhouse kicks him in the head with incredible force, causing Eclipse to attempt to drain into a puddle, but Mewtwo quickly grabs his throat, and he tosses him upwards. As Eclipse falls downwards, Mewtwo kicks him with perfect timing, sending him flying. Eclipse gets even more furious, and he transforms into his behemoth form again, grabbing Mewtwo. Before he can attempt to smack Mewtwo into the ground, Mewtwo jumps out of his grip, running up his arm. Eclipse attempts to hit him with his other hand, but Mewtwo is too quick and he jumps onto his shoulder. Eclipse turns around and faces him, opening his mouth whole, attempting to devour him. Mewtwo counters this by materialising a surge of psychic energy in his hand, launching it all at once as a blast of energy directly into Eclipse's mouth. Eclipse screams in agonising pain, his scream sounding demonic again. Mewtwo teleports back onto the ground, as Eclipse reverts to his regular form again, groaning and coughing in pain, seemingly defeated. Mewtwo stands over him, hitting his palm with his fist. Eclipse's legs stretch upwards, ascending high. Eclipse opens a hole high up with his hands, and he quickly climbs inside it. Mewtwo launches himself upwards, barely being able to make it inside the hole.

Eclipse, still controlling Mewtwo, coughs loudly, a strange black liquid spilling from his mouth. Eclipse chokes, and massive amounts of the liquid forces it's way from Eclipse's mouth, Eclipse now puking excessive amounts of the liquid. Eclipse's eyes change from red to purple, Mewtwo's regular eye color. Mewtwo seems to have regained control over his body.

• Mewtwo: I'm... Back...

The black liquid seems to slither away in a hurry, the black liquid being Eclipse. Mewtwo starts charging psychic energy.

• Mew: STOP!

Mewtwo turns around and faces Mew, who was floating beside him. His expresion shifts from a ferocious glare to a thankful smile, as he breathes a sigh of relief.

• Mew: Why did you attack me? What happened-

Mew's sentance is interrupted by Mewtwo hugging Mew, catching Mew by surprise. Mew hugs Mewtwo back.

• Mewtwo: I thought I lost you...

Mewtwo sounds like as if he is about to break into tears again.

• Mew: Mewtwo, I'm fine... What happened?

Mewtwo lets go, standing in silence for a few seconds, thinking about what he is going to say.

• Mewtwo: When I went to Echo Creek, I found a being who was nothing but pure evil. He wanted to see me suffer, and he tortured me for what felt like years. But the worst of it is that he took my body, and he tried to use it to kill you. I... I didn't expect to come out alive. I didn't expect for you to come out alive either...

• Mew: Mewtwo, it's okay! The point is, you're okay. And that's all that matters! Now, have a rest. You've earned it. You can forget about it tomorrow!

Mew smiles, attempting to cheer Mewtwo up. Mewtwo sighs, and he reverts back to his regular form. He looks around the cave, and he notices Grimer, who was still unconscious.

• Mewtwo: Do you think we should get him to a Pokecenter?

• Mew: I'll take care of it! You just have a rest.

• Mewtwo: Alright. Thank you, Mew.

• Mew: Your welcome, Mewtwo!

Mew teleports, along with Grimer, leaving Mewtwo alone again. He remembers Eclipse, and how he let him escape with his life. "Another time" he tells himself, happy that nobody got seriously hurt in the end. Mewtwo closes his eyes, and he begins to drift off to sleep, ending the story.
