Tempo is a superpowered teen created by Dr. Zack, who was first introduced in The Super Powered Renaissance. He is roleplayed by Redfork2000.
History[]
Tempo was one of the four superpowered teens, those being him, Bark, Breeze and Splash, that were created by Dr. Zack to replace the four superpowered teens that abandoned him during The Ace Plan. Tempo and the other three members of his generation of superpowered teens make their first appearance during The Super Powered Renaissance as Dr. Zack's new minions.
Tempo and the other three superpowered teens appeared during many stories of Seasons 2, 3 and 4 of Heroes of Echo Creek as minor antagonists.
During the events of Metallic Menace, Dr. Zack threatened to fire Tempo and his teammates if they were unable to defeat the gang, giving them all his Z-series machines he used against the gang in previous encounters to use them against the gang. They ultimately failed, and Dr. Zack fired them, leaving them alone to fend for themselves.
They appeared once again during The Ace Revenge as homeless people who were living in the trash bin located in the construction site where Brick was going to build his tower. After being found by one of Brick's robots, which then tried to evict them, they destroy it but were then attacked by Brick. Brick easily defeated them, knocking Splash and Bark out and injuring him, forcing Breeze to carry them away from Brick in order to escape. Later in the story they are called by Miss Bloomina to help her restore the forest. Once they help her restore the forest and discover how much she has changed, they decide to join the gang from there on.
Personality[]
Tempo is seen to have a strict and irritable personality. He is disciplined and punctual. He is completely obsessed with time and his schedules, keeping strict track of time, and because of his strict and domineering personality, he won't put up with any idle or useless activities, taking others to task for their lateness. As seen in most of his conversations, he additionally tends to not speak much if he thinks it will waste time.
He is seen to be very dismissive of others, generally considering himself superior to others, and to frequently think of others as inferior to him. He believes others to be stupid or lazy. His strict and irritable personality makes him hard to approach, and he doesn't show much of a soft side, but it's possible that behind that front of seriousness, strictness and irritability he may hide a more vulnerable side of himself he doesn't show to the world.
Powers and Abilities[]
Tempo has the standard abilities of a Superpowered Teen.
Unique Powers[]
- Chronokinesis: Tempo has the ability to slow down or stop time at will. However, doing so requires a lot of energy from him, so he needs to use this powerful carefully to not overexert himself.
- Enhanced Endurance: Like most superpowered teens, Tempo is a lot more resistant to damage than a regular human.
Weaknesses[]
- Overexertion: If Tempo constantly uses his powers ove and over again without rest, he can become too exhausted to keep fighting.
- Electricity: Tempo is extremely vulnerable to electricity, as seen when he was easily defeated by Electra during his debut story.
Relations with other characters[]
- Bark: Tempo and Bark don't get along all that much, mostly due to Tempo's perfectionism and impatience.
- Breeze: Tempo and Breeze seem to have a rivalry with each other about which of the two is the true leader of their group. They seem to not stand each other, both of them trying to to their best to show they're better than the other, as explained in Twin Twister.
- Splash: Due to the fact that Tempo is very short-tempered, he frequently gets annoyed at Splash, considering him the most useless member of their team.
- Miss Bloomina: When Tempo worked for Dr. Zack, Miss Bloomina was one of his authority figures, who frequently treated him just as poorly as Dr. Zack did. However, when she's reformed, she apologizes to Tempo and the others. It's thanks to seeing Miss Bloomina's change that Tempo and his team decide to join the gang.
