Andrew Smith is a human male who works as a news reporter, and after being saved from a couple of criminals by Athena, he fell in love with her. He is controlled by Redfork2000.

Personality

Andrew is an energetic, talkative and cheerful man. He's very optimistic, as even when it seems like things are hopeless, he tends to show at least a glimmer of hope. He gets easily excited, and loves to investigate and research about different topics. As a news reporter it's his job to investigate important topics for the newspaper he works for.

Andrew's easily excitable and overly effusive personality can sometimes be a bit overwhelming for some. He doesn't seem ashamed of expressing his affection with big gestures, and overall is very open about his feelings towards others. He can also be very persistent, not giving up on his goals and continuing to pursue them.

Despite his cheerful and energetic personality, Andrew can be easily frightened by dangerous situations, and can start panicking when he's in a tense situation he doesn't understand. However, he can overcome these fears when he has to help friends in need, and can be a brave and loyal companion.

Skills

As a regular human, Andrew doesn't have any unique powers or abilities that can help him in combat. However, he does have a few skills that, while irrelevant in combat, can still be helpful in other situations.

  • Knowledge: Andrew loves researching and investigating just about anything he finds interesting, and as a result has accumulated quite an amount of knowledge. If there's any questions about different topics, there's a good chance Andrew might know a bit about it.
  • Intelligence: Despite not being the best at reading social cues (such as him misinterpreting Athena's signs of annoyance when he was trying to woo her), Andrew is a highly intelligent and creative individual with very good problem-solving skills. This was shown when he tricked Parafron by drawing a fake hole with the art utensils he was given.
  • Cooking: Andrew is very passionate about cooking. It's one of his hobbies, and he's learned many recipes. He's not a professional chef, but he's very good in the kitchen.

Relationships with other characters

Athena

When Andrew was being held at gunpoint by two of the Squidfather's henchmen, Athena saved him, causing him to develop a crush on her. Andrew admires Athena, and really wants to win her affection. Throughout Dating the Deity, Andrew attempts different things to try and win her affection, though in the end she ended up snapping out at him, annoyed by all his attempts.

Eventually Andrew helps free Athena from an Epsilon Trap allowing her to defeat Parafron, causing Athena to recognize that Andrew isn't as bad as she thought. Despite everything, Andrew still holds onto the hope that one day Athena will reciprocate the love he has for her. Andrew still has a crush on Athena, and is willing to do anything he can to get her to feel the same for him. However, he's now learned to respect her space more, and to not overwhelm her, so it's safe to say they're in better terms than when they first met.

Aurora Blue

Andrew doesn't interact too much with Aurora throughout his debut story, mostly because his attention is focused on Athena, but however, the times the two have exchanged words they seem to get along well enough. Andrew asked Aurora about what Athena likes, and Aurora helped with as much as she could. Despite the few instances of them interacting with each other, overall they seem to get along.

Parafron

In Dating the Deity, Parafron kidnapped Andrew believing him to be romantically involved with Athena, with the idea that kidnapping him would make Athena come to her. Though slightly flawed logic, the plan did work, as Athena and Aurora came to rescue him. Andrew dislikes Parafron, realizing that she's one of Athena's enemies, and played a key role in defeating Parafron, fooling her with a distraction to go and free Aurora and Athena. While he's certainly not capable of fighting her directly, he clearly sees her as an enemy.
